The article contains the memoirs about Aleksander Davidovich Shveitser (1923–2002), a distinguished Soviet and Russian interpreter and language theorist. The article is written by his postgraduate student and now the Candidate of Philology, Research Fellow of the Department of Linguistics at Institute of Scientific Information for Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (INION RAN) E.A. Kazak.
